Interesting Things You never Knew About Your Penis

Sep 16, 2019 By Kayode Oseh 10.9K

Will it be ridiculous if i say a man's penis is the most loved part of his body? we men tend to be fond of our own male appendage, it is one of our greatest companion. We love it so much. No man would be able to deny the fact that -when we are alone, touching and playing with it makes us feel relaxed and entertained. I guess am beginning to unveil some of the men's secretes right now but however, lets just leave it at that

While the penis seemed to be one of the most interesting part of the male's body, there are quite a number of things we still don't know about this little guy.

Let just take a look at some few;

Your Penis Can Depreciate when you don't use it

According to Jean Baptiste Lamarck theory of evolution, he said frequently used body part develops while unused body part diminishes. However, most scientist disapproved this theory and rendered it null. But as it is now its like Jean Lamarck is beginning to make some sense when we take a closed look at the case of the penis. That's on a lighter note though!

According to Tobias Kohler, MD, assistant professor of urology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, he said you need to have erections regularly to keep your penis in shape. "It has to be essentially exercised."

According to him, he said to maintain a healthy tone, the smooth muscle of the penis must be periodically enriched with oxygen by the rush of blood that engorges the penis and makes it erect. Without regular erections, penile tissue can become less elastic and shrink, making the penis 1-2 centimeters shorter.

If a guy is physically able to get erect, but never gained any during the day -- maybe due to the fact that he finds himself in very un-erotic circumstances for a long time -- he need not to worry. The brain has an automatic penis maintenance function built in. It means that Impulses from the brain will always cause an erections when sleeping at night, whether you are having an erotic dream or not.

But for some men who've suffered trauma to the nerves involved or who have nerve or blood vessel damage caused by diabetes, they should look for a way to exercising their penis. "If they don't do anything to maintain normal erections, they will get shortening of the penis," Kohler says. A device like a vacuum pump, which forces the penis to swell with blood, can help men with physical erection problems maintain a healthy penis, he said.

A smaller flaccid penis gain twice as much length as a longer flaccid one

Most men don't know that the size of a flaccid penis is not in any way related to the size of an erected one. A penis may look smaller when flaccid but gain enough length and size when fully erect. An analysis of more than a thousand measurements taken by sex researcher Alfred Kinsey shows that shorter flaccid penises tend to gain about twice as much length as longer flaccid penises.

It showed that there is a probability that a penis that looks smaller when flaccid may gain as much length as the one that looks longer when flaccid. Meaning that a longer flaccid penis may not gain much extra length when compared to a smaller flaccid one.

For the fact that your neighbor's penis looks larger than yours when both are flaccid doesn't mean that it will remain that way when both are erect....you better stop judging wrongly.

A penis that doesn't gain much length with an erection is said to be a "show-er," while the one that gains a lot is said to be a "grower."  However, note that these are not medical terms, and there aren't scientifically established thresholds for what is a show-er or a grower.

The Pleasure Zone

It has been studied that the underside of the glans (head) of the penis and the underside of the shaft is considered to be most sensitive part to sexual pleasure.

Researchers asked 81 healthy men to rate the erotic sensitivity of different areas of their bodies, not only including the penis but also zones like the scrotum, anus, nipples, perineum and neck.

The underside of the glans and underside of the shaft had the highest sensitivity rating for a significant majority of men, followed by the upper side of the glans, left and right sides of the glans, sides of the penis, upper side of the shaft, and foreskin (for the minority of men who were uncircumcised). The study findings were reported in the British Journal of Urology International in 2009.

Sensitivity declines With Age

Studies show that as men age the penis loses sensitivity though it's hard to say by how much exactly. That's because different researchers have used different ways to stimulate the penis and measure sensitivity.

In general, "sensory threshold" is used to measure a man penis sensitivity. This is the measurement that gauges the least amount of stimulation a man is able to feel. Several studies have shown that from age 25 on, sensitivity starts to decline. The sharpest decline in sensitivity is seen between age 65 and 75. But what is still unclear is whether men really notice a loss of sensitivity as they age because it is quite a rare complain among men.

There's More to the Penis Than you actually see

We tend to judge the length of our penis by just looking at it. But however, the penis is twice as long as we think. That's because half the length of the penis is inside your body. Just like you don't see all of a big oak tree above ground, you don't see the root of your penis tucked up inside your pelvis and attached to your pubic bone. Never judge your penis wrongly!
