Owning a car is a necessity at the same time luxurious. Although owning a car is not suppose to be regarded as luxury anyway but when you consider how much bucks you need to spend on it on regular bases in order to keep it in good shape, you really are going to know what's up. There are lots of responsibilities to contain when you own a car. But apart from spending much in order to improve your car, there are also some few tricks you need to know as well. These simple tricks would make the usage of car easy and comfortable for you and the most interesting part is that you are not going to spend much at all.

Clean the headlights

Headlights can be really messy most times. After driving for a while you would notice that your headlights are a little dull and dirty in their appearance. While most people often reach for some detergents or soaps to do the cleaning, you could reach out for toothpaste instead. Smear some toothpaste on the them and allow to sit for 15 minutes, afterwards clean with damp towel or microfibril. You would be surprised at how shinny and gleaming they will look. Toothpaste is best for this because it does the job better than any soap or detergents ever could.

Do It Yourself (DIY) Cleaner

There are ways to clean your car upholstery that are amazing and better than other conventional cleaning methods. Instead of reaching out for some general cleanser or something, you could chose to formulate one yourself. You don't need to do much in this. All you need is a vineger, lemon juice and soda.

Combine 120 millilitres vinegar, 240 millilitres club soda and 60 millilitres lemon juice. Shake the bottle and spray the surface you want to clean. After spraying, clean and rub it clean with a hard bristled brush. Use a damp towel to wipe all excess dirt and grime after you’ve scrubbed it with the brush. This will not only make your seats looks nice but also make your car smell good too.

Remove scratches

This method may only work for superficial scratches alone which consist mainly of dirt. To remove superficial scratches, pour a little nail polish remover without acetone on a microfibril cloth and scrub gently.

Dealing with food crumbs

Most of us like snacking a lot while driving and the crumbs from the food can actually cause lot of mess in our car. When snacking, try to put some paper muffin liners in your cup holders. The reason is because instead of crumbs littering everywhere, they could go into the cup instead. This could save you the stress of vacuuming always.

Cleaning oil stains

Engine oils can be very difficult to clean when splattered on the ground. Anytime you notice this, don't worry too much. Just grab a can of coke and pour on that area, then wait for about 10 to 15 minutes before you mop. Coke is better for this process because it has carbonic acids which can dissolve oils in surfaces and make them less difficult to clean.

Making a parking help

Do you have a small garage and are you scared you’ll drive up to the wall one day? You can easily make a cheap and simple parking help! that wouldn't require any fancy electronics. Drive your car into the garage until it’s parked in the right spot. Take a tennis ball and cut a cross shape into it. Tie a nutted rope to a string and push the nut into the tennis ball. Hang the string from the ceiling and allow the ball to suspend from it in such a way that the tennis ball touches your windshield when the car is parked correctly. When next you park your car, the tennis ball will hit your windshield signalling you that you've gotten to the right parking spot.
