Things You Didn't Know You Can Do With Toothpaste


It turns out that toothpastes has more functions than just being a part of oral-care regimen. Whether Colgate, Oral B, or Close Up but as far as its called toothpaste, here are some incredible things you can do with it beside anything oral.

Clean Your Headlights

Toothpaste comes in quite well for several cleaning duties. When cleaning your vehicle, make sure you specifically reserve the headlight for toothpaste to do some amazing job for you. Toothpaste cuts through every grits and grimes, completely eradicating those hazy films that have built on your car headlights overtime. Just squeeze a bit of toothpaste onto the surface, then rub the paste all over your headlights and scrub with any clean and moist rag. Follow up by buffing them clean with a dry cloth.

Remove Permanent Marker

Permanent markers are best cleaned using organic solvents but toothpaste can be the savior of the day when this solvents are out of reach. Apply a bit of toothpaste to the mark and clean gently using a damp cloth. This trick works quit well for walls, TVs, and stains in upholstery.

Clean Rubber Soles

Cleaning the rubber part of shoe soles can actually cause a little pain in the neck most especially if they are white. We all know how dirty this part of our shoes can be and how hard it is to clean. Anyway we can always count on toothpaste to do something marvelous. Just apply a bit of toothpaste to the part that needs cleaning with an old toothbrush to loosen the dirt. Wipe the dirt and toothpaste using any damp cloth.

I often use detergent for this purpose but ever since i discovered the effectiveness of toothpaste, that has been the ways i gleam my shoes.

Clean your mirrors and windows

A little bit of toothpaste can help you fog-proof your bathroom mirror and windows. Squeeze a bit of toothpaste onto the mirror and rub it thoroughly over the glass, then follow up by whipping with a damp cloth.

Clean Iron soleplates

Irons are meant to make your cloth look good and not get them dirty. Sometimes the soleplate of our pressing iron can be so gunked up that if we are not careful we may end up messing up our clothe instead of making them look good. Though we cannot douse the iron because we want to clean it, but we can always use toothpaste to do an effective job.

Just plug the iron for few seconds to make it slightly hot, then squeeze some paste on the soleplate. Use any damp cloth to wipe out every gunk from the surface. But do make sure the cloth is big enough so that you hands don't make direct contact with the plate since its a bit hot.

Lighten Discolored Fingernails

If your nails look a bit discolored due to frequent use of nail polish, toothpaste can help bring back it beauty. Grab some paste, apply a small dab to your nail, use a nail brush or a toothbrush to give it a good scrub, then wash your hands afterwards. Repeat this process daily and restore your nails look in no time.

Fill in holes in walls

Do you know that toothpaste is the best thing to use for the holes in your walls? you can use it to fill any tinny holes that have disfigured your walls. After filling, allow the paste to get dry, then follow up with little painting to mask them up.

Fix Small Scratches

You can fix small scratches on your phone screen or CDs by using toothpaste. Apply a bit of paste on the scratched surface, then scrub gently using a soft thin fiber.

Get rid of pimples and mosquito bites

Toothpaste makes pimples or bites from mosquitoes heal faster. Just apply a little paste to the infected area before you go to bed. You will definitely notice some positive changes the next day.
