This Is Why Drogon Didn't Kill Jon Snow In The Game Of Thrones Finale

In the Game of Thrones finale, Drogon flies to the Great Hall in the Red Keep right after Jon Snow kills Daenerys Targaryen. Drogon burns the Iron Throne with his fire breath, and then flies away with Dany's body. Drogon doesn't kill Jon-why? Here are some theories.

Daenerys Tagaryen was the Mother of Dragons. Her three reptilian babies were fiercely loyal to her throughout the entire Game of Thrones series until one of them became recruited into to army of the dead by the night king. So fans were a little confused when Drogon decided not to blast Jon Snow with deadly fire breath after Jon killed Dany .

The tense scene in the Red Keep played out after Dany celebrated her bloody "victory" at King's Landing. As she admires the Iron Throne by herself in the Great Hall, Jon approaches her and swears his allegiance. Persuaded by Tyrion and Arya that Dany will make a terrible queen -- Jon kisses Dany and stabs her in the chest. RIP my love and aunt.

As Jon places Dany's body on the floor, Drogon's threatening form appears. He looks menacingly at Jon for a moment...before gruesomely destroying the Iron Throne into a goopy pile of molten metal. Then he flies away with Dany's body , leaving Jon to be imprisoned, and eventually peace out for the Wall .

Why didnt Drogon kill Jon Snow?

Although it's impossible to know for sure, because dragons can't talk, but there are a few theories floating around the internet ever since.

. Drogon is loyal to all Tagaryens.

One possible reason is that Jon Snow is actually a Targaryen-son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Since Tagaryens have strong ties to dragons-Jon even rode the dragon Rhaegal during the Battle of Winterfell!-it's possible that Drogon didn't want to harm one of his "own."

So did Drogon not kill Jon Snow cause he's a Targaryen?

. Drogon agreed that Dany would've been a crappy queen.

Drogon witnessed Dany's "Mad Queen" nature - he was her primary weapon in destroying King's Landing and killing the innocent people who lived there. This is one of the main reasons Drogon understands why Jon had to kill Dany.

He is loyal enough to his Mother that he doesn't want anyone else to sit in her beloved chair. That could explain why he melted the iron throne like piles of molten magma.

. Drogon also knew that Jon Snow is a man of honor and the entire kingdom still needs him and also killing him would have been the end of the Tartaryen blood because Jon was the last Targaryen.
