Managing your arthritis begins with keeping a positive attitude. Your mind can be a great tool in fighting physical ailments. Try to stay focused on the positive things in life. Laugh, maintain friendships, and try to keep doing the activities you love.
Exercise is another great way to manage arthritis. Exercise can actually reduce the pain in your body. The movement actually acts like lubrication to your joints. Make sure you only exercise within your limits. Do not overdo it. If you feel joint pain or stiffness, cut back or take a break.
On the opposite end of the spectrum from exercise, rest plays another important role in dealing with your arthritis. Try to get as much rest as possible throughout the day. While you are resting try flexing your legs and muscles at different intervals.
If you have flare ups try to prioritize your activities. You may find it necessary to cut back on some of your daily activities. If you have too much swelling or pain, you may need to suspend all activities for that day.
If your symptoms persist, you may want to consult a chiropractor. A chiropractor can make adjustments that can improve joint motion and reduce inflammation. They can do this without the need of harmful drugs or other toxins.
