Bottle Water is a great example of a highly sophisticated propaganda apparatus that is able to convince millions of people to buy into the sham and transforming water into a fashion statement. Bottle water is very expensive over the long term whereas my machine initial cost is only the equivalent of about two hundred gallons of water and the machine will last, as it has, for many years to come.
Water filters are devices that can improve the overall taste, smell and appearance of drinking water and can remove some chemical substances. Water filters are basically used to purify water that can be used for drinking, irrigations, water aquariums and also for swimming pools.
Bottled water companies are wasting resources and exacerbating climate change. Bottled water is one of many luxuries we afford ourselves
in the developed world. Bottled water meets no higher quality standards than tap water, and the two best selling brands Aquafina and Dasani are simply municipal tap water that has been filtered.
Bottled water is not necessarily healthier that tap. While different
agencies govern tap water (Environmental Protection Agency) and bottled water (Food and Drug Administration), for the most part, similar
standards have been adopted by both. Bottled water is one of the most ridiculous, destructive things we are doing to the planet we all claim to enjoy.
"--Bottled water costs as much as $10 per gallon compared to less than a penny per gallon for tap water.
"--Worldwide, 2.7 million tons of plastic are used each year to make water bottles, but in the U.S., less than 20 percent of
these bottles are recycled.
"--The total estimated energy needed to make, transport, and dispose of one bottle of water is equivalent to filling the
same bottle one-quarter full of oil.
"--An estimated 40 percent of bottled water sold in the U.S. is just filtered tap water."
Filter
At 30 to 50 cents per gallon, filtering your tap water is not only more cost effective, but it also gives you control over what chemicals or substances are removed from the water you drink. We filter ours and are just thankful for this resource to be so available to us. I do not need any of the big drink making companies filtering it for me.
I installed a water filter , no more bottled water for me, no more recycling the plastic bottles. The best bet is to invest in a good water filter. Hence, this method works for me at the fraction of the cost of bottled water, with the same clear and pure taste, that mother nature intended for us.
Taste
In blind taste tests using identical glasses and temperatures, bottled waters score no higher than tap water. Bottled water does not
always taste better than tap water. I can tell you that there is a noticeable difference in the taste of the water when using the
filter and it's cheaper to maintain than buying bottle water every week.
Another popular alternative is to install a high quality water purifier to remove possible contaminates and improve the taste of your local water supplier's product. Most people think that bottle water is better because they cannot taste or smell chlorine because bottle water is filtered with a charcoal filter which does not remove but simply masked the taste and smell.
Conclusion
Bottle water is a waste on every level. It is heavy, expensive and is unlikely to be as clean as is necessary, and it is also known to carry microbes. Water filters are a great alternative to purchasing bottled water.
Water filters are an eco-friendly alternative because they use a small amount of energy, create a small amount of waste and don't require the manufacturing of large amounts of plastic.
