I chose MDF because the slit in which the casing of guide functions is smoother than it would be so laminated of cut through. The gauge is basically a box with the cut of slits in before and the back thus it falls the surplus the turned candlestick. Before gauge faces the headstock and with the slips above the collar of plate before thus it is behind the front plate. The back of the gauge slips above the candlestick below the cup candle. The tilted top is higher with before (23). However you build this gauge with your installation of turn, it is imperative that it not movement.
ND there must be approximately 1/8” release between the top of the gauge and the base of the candlestick. Mine is a gauge in two parts: the box and a bed plate. The bed plate slips under the tube of turn and has four “of the holes drilled inside.
