Jessica has quickly become one of the hottest female properties in showbiz. At 127 lbs., she is 5' 7" with a wonderful 35-24-35 anatomy. Jessica has already played a variety of roles ranging from light comedy to gritty drama since beginning her career.
Her lucky break would come when she landed a part in the 1993 comedy "Camp Nowhere", when the actress hired to play the part suddenly dropped out. Nabbing that part in a feature film was a great start for her career, but she was still not considered a hot ticket by Hollywood standards. Jessica took a couple of steps back and turned her attention to commercial work. Jessica has starred in two different commercials, for both JC Penny and Nintendo.
Destined to succeed, Jessica branched out into the realm of series television earning herself a recurring role in Nickelodeon's comedy series, "The Secret World of Alex Mack". Her next major role was in the "Flipper" series as Maya. Jessica is an avid swimmer and a PADI certified diver which allows her a great latitude and enjoyment in her acting career.
Jessica Alba has been slowly crawling up the Hollywood power list over the past few years, but 2007 looks like it's going to be her year.
The actress has no less than six films coming out this year - the first of which is Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer in which she plays the part of Sue Storm, the invisible woman with a force-field.
After the comic book adaptation is released, Alba is set to appear on screen in horror film The Eye, three comedies - Good Luck Chuck, Bill, and The Ten, plus another thriller titled Awake.
Earlier this year, she topped FHM's poll as being the sexiest woman on the planet.
Alba often appears in men's magazines - but the actress said it is strictly for movie promotion.
One of the crop of bright-eyed, dewy-skinned young actors to attain teen idoldom and a regular paycheck during the late 1990s, Jessica Alba closed out the century as one of Hollywood's more promising new talents. Born in Pomona, California, on April 28, 1981, Alba, whose father was in the Air Force, moved with her family to Biloxi, Mississippi, when she was an infant, but she eventually moved back to California nine years later. It was back in California that she embarked on an acting career; having been in love with the idea of acting since she was five, Alba took her first acting class at the age of 12, and nine months later, she landed her first agent.
She was cast as a genetically-engeneered woman who escapes from the lab and joins a cyberjournalist named Logan Cale (Michael Weatherly) in his neverending fight against a crime in a post-apocalyptic future. Though the series was cancelled after two seasons, Alba continued to appear in such indie features as Paranoid (2000) and The Sleeping Dictionary (2002); the little-seen Glitter-esque dancer drama Honey similarly did little to enhance her profile.
