Early Life/Career Beginnings
Kenneth Arnold Chesney was born on March 26, 1968, in Knoxville, Tennessee and raised in Luttrell, Tennessee. Generally speaking, Chesney enjoyed a “normal” childhood in which he attended Gibbs High School in Corryton, Tennessee and then attended and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in advertising.
Chesney got his “start” in music while he was in college, as he climbed the ranks much like many musicians, scrapping his way through several local clubs and busking while selling his self-financed and self-recorded demo-type albums. Despite his need for busking, which is basically street performing, Chesney managed to earn a reputation and a local following, and Kenny Chesney tickets soon became a popular item in the local area.
Roots of Success
After finishing college, Chesney moved to Nashville to embark on his big-time musical dreams. He got his start in Nashville in much the same way he did in college - by playing in local clubs at every opportunity. It wasn’t long before he once again garnered a loyal local following and was noticed by record producers. In 1992, Chesney signed his first recording contract with BMI.
He did not release his first album with BMI until 1995, and it was entitled, All I Need to Know. The album went gold, however, and Chesney was on his way to the top. Since then, he has released 10 subsequent albums, and each of the last eight studio releases has achieved a minimum of platinum status. Simply put, Chesney is a household name in the country music world.
Personal Life
Chesney has also gained a reputation in the tabloids, most notably for his short-lived marriage to actress Renée Zellweger in 2005. The marriage lasted only four months, and in September of 2005, after only four months of marriage, the couple announced plans for an annulment.
Overall, Chesney presents pure talent and energy at every one of his live performances, which is why Kenny Chesney tickets are always in high demand.
