Use these Hacks to save time and get Organized in your Kitchen

There are lots of ways to get creative in the kitchen. Since this is the most important place around our home, having to do things with ease and achieve a better result would probably be a blast. Looking for some smart ways you can actually employ in your kitchen duties to get things done the right way? Here are some kickass hacks you should probably try.

Add a tiny bit of salt to your coffee to make it less bitter.

How better can we prepare our self for the day’s activities order than doing it with a cup of coffee? This is one of the few things that make our morning filled with glee. The rewards that come with this brown bean are endless making it one of the most consumed beverages in the world -plus it keeps your senses awake and keep you alert, is just a bonus. While there are different ways to enjoy coffee, we can actually try out this hack; to beat back the bitter taste by adding a pinch of salt. Not only does salt cut the bitterness, but it also smoothes out the stale taste of jar-stored water.

Instead of turning the hand mixer, turn the bowl.

Mixing batters can be hell stressful. When you're making thick batters, it takes less energy (and saves your wrist!) if you spin the bowl around instead of the mixer.

Add brewed coffee to chocolate cake or brownie batter instead of water

When chocolate cake or brownie batters call for more water, add brewed coffee instead. It brings out the richness of the chocolate or brownie even more. A trick to keep up your sleeves!

Make ice cream scoop able

Switch ice cream from freezer to fridge 30 minutes before it's time to serve. Here, you will be sure to get evenly softened, easy-to-scoop ice cream.

Prevent potatoes from turning brown

Cover shredded or diced potatoes with cold water before cooking to prevent the spuds from turning brown which is usually caused by the oxidation of reducing sugars (glucose). Plus it also helps them to release enough starch so the potato don’t become soggy when fried as chips.

Give bananas a longer life

Keep bananas fresh for longer by wrapping the end of the bunch with plastic wrap. It helps to block ethylene gases from releasing out of the stem, thereby ripening the fruit too quickly.

Speed up ripening

Although most of us are quite familiar with this, but let me still retweet the message. With the help of a paper bag you can quicken the ripening of bananas. When fruit is tossed into the bag, ethylene gas get trapped and become concentrated which helps the fruit to ripen faster.

Prevent brown sugar from hardening

Do your brown sugars get hardened pretty fast? Try this hack to make them remain scoopable. Toss an orange peel or a slice of apple along with the sugar into an airtight container, this would loosen the sugar crystals and make them scoopable.

Check if eggs are still edible

Don’t always trust your nose to help you identify bad eggs. There are other ways to do that too -to find out, gently place uncooked eggs in a bowl of cold water. If it sinks, fine. If it floats, It means your eggs have seen better days.

Skim the fat

Spoon out excess fat from stocks, stews, and sauces by skimming a few ice cubes (wrapped in a paper towel or cheese cloth) along the surface of the liquid. The ice helps the fat solidify, making it easier to remove with a spoon.

Separate yolks from whites

Crack an egg into a bowl, and then invert an empty plastic bottle above the yolk, squeeze the sides of the bottle and release. It will suck the yolk.
