Africa is second most extensive and most populous continent in the world with an estimated population of approximately 1.3 billion in 2019. It is a continent made up of 54 different sovereign states and nine territories. It is abundant in wildlife, natural resources and rich in traditions. This is actually one of the most fascinating places in the world, quite a lot is happening in this part of the world.

Being a place that is so much blessed with natural resources and other good things that life has to offer, one would assume that this place should be the best in the world. However, it is rather unfortunate that this is not the case.

Nigeria



Nigeria, an African country on the Gulf of Guinea, has many natural landmarks and wildlife reserves. The nation is the most populous in Africa and 7th in the world with an estimated population of approximately 202 million. The country became a sovereign state after gaining independent from the Britain on October 1st 1960.

Ghana



Ghana, a nation on West Africa’s Gulf of Guinea, is known for diverse wildlife, old forts and secluded beaches, such as at Busua. Ghana has a population of approximately 30.6 million. Ghana became an independent nation on 6th March 1957, gaining independent from Britain.

Kenya



Kenya is a country in East Africa with coastline on the Indian Ocean. It encompasses savannah, lakelands, the dramatic Great Rift Valley and mountain highlands. Its a home of wildlife like elephants, lions and rhinos. Kenya attained independent on June 1st 1963 and became a republic on 12 December 1964 under the headship of Jomo Kenyatta.

Tanzania



Located in the eastern African is Tanzania, the resting place of Mountain Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa also a home of several game reserves and wildlife. On December 9th 1961, Tanzania became a sovereign state, an independent they gained from Britain.     

Equatorial Guinea



Equatorial Guinea is a Central African country comprising the Rio Muni mainland and 5 volcanic offshore islands. This is the only sovereign African state that speaks Spanish as an official language. Formally a colony of Spain who gained Independent on October 12, 1968.

Chad



Chad, officially known as the Republic of Chad, is a landlocked country in north-central Africa. It is bordered by Sudan to the east, the Central African Republic to the south, Cameroon and Nigeria to the southwest, and Niger to the west. In 1920 the country was conquered by France and was latter incorporated as part of French Equatorial Africa. However, In 1960, Chad obtained independence under the leadership of François Tombalbaye.

Angola



The Republic of Angola is a South Africa whose varied terrain encompasses tropical Atlantic beaches, a labyrinthine system of rivers and Sub-Saharan desert that extends across the border into Namibia. It is the 7th largest country in Africa. Angola gained independent in 11 November 1975 from Portugal. It is one of the few African countries to have Portuguese as an official language.

Lesotho



Lesotho is an independent state who border is completely encircled by South Africa. It has a population of approximately 2.13 million. It was formally known as Basutoland until the name was changed to Lesotho after gaining independent from Britain on 4 October 1966.

Namibia



Namibia, a country in southwest Africa. It is a home to diverse wildlife and one of the countries with the highest cheetah population in the world. The country has an estimated population of approximately 2.49 million of 2019 with it capital situated in Windhoek.

Sudan



The Republic of Sudan is a country located on the southeastern Africa. It has a population of around 42 million as of 2019 with it capital located in Khartoum. This nation became and independent nation on January 1, 1956.
