How much sugar can I have in a day?
Here is the current recommendation by several leading health authorities, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans. They say that children and adults should limit added sugar to no more than 10% of their total energy/calorie consumption.
How can I manage my sugar intake?
There
are many ways you can reduce sugar in your diet. To help, Coca-Cola is
reducing sugar and calories in many of their products.
They
also have sugar and calorie information on their bottles and cans, on
their Products page and more, so you can decide what’s right for you.
If you want reduced- or no-sugar options
They
are making more reduced- and no-sugar versions of many of the drinks
you love available and making them easier to find. In the U.S., 250 of
the 800+ beverages they offer have reduced or no sugar. And, 19 of their
21 top global brands have a reduced- or no-sugar option.
They
are also using new sugar substitutes to make new drinks with fewer
calories. Coca-Cola Life is one example. It is sweetened with a blend of
cane sugar and Stevia leaf extract. It has 35% fewer calories and less
sugar than Coca-Cola, but with a great taste people love.
Try
these other alternatives to Coca-Cola: Diet Coke and Coke Zero Sugar.
Both have zero sugar and zero calories. They are each made with their
own unique blend of flavors.
All are refreshing. Choosing a great-tasting option just depends on your preference!
If you want smaller portion sizes
To
provide smaller options, they have smaller bottles and mini-cans. These
sizes make it easier to control sugar intake, so you can still have
some of your favorite drinks when you want a little less. Check out the
7.5-oz Coca-Cola mini soda can.
Today, about 40% of their soft
drink brands in the U.S. come in a smaller serving size, like their
7.5-oz mini soda cans. Check these out:
