Long ago before humans were born dolphins used to be four legged animals that walked on land. There are fossils found that dates back from 50 million years ago. It’s amazing that dolphins lived longer than humans. After a long period of time dolphins were adapted and became marine mammals due to the climate change on earth. After the occurrence of many natural disasters, dating back from millions of years, dolphins has transformed into the beings they are now.
• How smart are Dolphins?
Dolphins are one of the smartest animals in the world. Dolphins can communicate using (echolocation). Dolphins have a deep understanding of emotions. When one of their friends or family members pass away they can feel a great deal of empathy. Dolphins are very similar to humans and can take cares of the baby (calf) just like what we do ourselves. Dolphins usually stick together as groups and work as a family unit so predators won’t attack them.
• What do Dolphins eat?
Dolphins like to eat herring, cod, mackerel and squid . Dolphins carry very playful behaviour and their are no citing of Dolphins attacking humans . There are not many incidents that have been announced that attacked humans. Which is a relief since we don’t want to be too scared to go into the waters.
• How dolphins sleep
Dolphins sleep by not shutting down the whole brain but a half brain. Dolphins usually need to breathe air so they cannot go deep down the ocean and are required to go up once in awhile for air. Usually, dolphins will sleep vertically or horizontally, or sleep while swimming slowly next to another animal. Which is very amazing since the whole brain is not a sleep.
