Today in history: The New York Stock Exchange was founded
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE, sometimes know as the "Big Board", is an American stock exchange located at 11 Wall Street, New York. It is by far the world's largest stock exchange by market capitalization of its listed companies. The history of NYSE began with the signing of the Buttonwood agreement by 24 stockbrokers on May 17, 1792, under Buttonwood tree.
