Easy Ways to Remove Plaques From Your Teeth

If there is anything you should be conscious of on daily basis is your oral health. Even if you like downplaying a whole lot of things by trying not to remember things you should, try make sure this one stick to your hippocampus at all times because it all worth it. A healthy oral cavity doesn't only make you look well groomed and appealing but also increase you self confidence and self esteem.

Teeth plaques and tartars is a major problem many people face in their oral health most especially we Africans. They are soft films substances that builds up on the teeth when the teeth is not well taken care of. Since our mouth is a domicile for millions of bacteria, when plaques accumulates on teeth, it paves way for bacteria to breed and this could be very dangerous to our oral health because it could lead to serious oral complications ranging from calculus, gum decay and tooth decay which is the leading cause of halitosis (chronic bad breath).        

How To Spot Plaque & Tartar At Home

Sometimes we have plaques and tartars on our teeth without even knowing exactly where they are hiding. If you think you have plaques that are unnoticed, do not worry there is a simple trick you can employ in order to fish them out. All you have to do is mix a few drops of food coloring in a glass of water, swish it around in your mouth for a moment and rinse with clear water.

The coloring will stick to the plaque and tartar buildup. Once you identify the problem areas, you can refocus your brushing on those spots to dismantle them; the color will disappear as you remove the plaque that it’s sticking to. Take the precaution of dabbing a little bit of lip balm around your lips to keep the food coloring from staining.

How to Remove Plaques and Tartars From Teeth

These are things you can do at home.

Flossing

However, this is not strictly a remedy, but regular flossing is all worth it if you are to prevent plaques and tartar from building up. It also helps reduce your risk of cavities and gum disease while promoting a healthier mouth.

Oil Pulling

This simple process can help remove plaque buildup and prevent more from forming. All you need is an oil, i guess coconut oil will work well, as it contains anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that cut down on mouth bacteria.

Swish 1 tablespoon of melted coconut oil in your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes. Make sure not to swallow it. Spit it out. Rinse out your mouth and brush teeth as normal. You can add this to your daily mouth washing routine.

Baking Soda

Baking soda has been an old family recipe for doing quit a lot of things ranging from baking, washing, and removing musty smell from things.

All you need do is dip your wet toothbrush in some baking soda and brush, as simple as that! you can add with salt for effective results. Its just a bonus that baking soda helps to remove smell from things, so it is a nice way of treating mouth odors.  

Strawberries and Tomatoes

Vitamin C is a very essential vitamin for your oral health and plays an important role in preventing plaques and tartars. Tomatoes, berries, lemons, orange and other citrus fruits are very rich in vitamin C. Who may have known that rubbing fruits on your teeth could help clean them? 

All you need do in this process is rub or bite into these fruits and allow the juice stay in your mouth for several minutes, the vitamin C content in them will help dissolve the plaques. After leaving for minutes rinse your mouth with warm water containing baking soda and brush your mouth as would normally do every day. Repeat this process daily and see the magic. 

White Vinegar

White vinegar is another good cleaning agent. Not only does this vinegar get rid of plaque, but also prevents demineralization of enamel on your teeth. Mix 2 tablespoons of vinegar and 1 tablespoon of sea salt in ¼ cup of warm to hot water. This mixture can function as a natural mouthwash that will help whiten your teeth so that you can smile brilliantly and courageously while flashing you pearly white teeth with pride.

Black Tea

Not only does it taste wonderful, but also pure black tea can also help in the fight against plaque and bacteria.
