Chocolate! chocolate! chocolate! will it be wrong when i say this is the best food in the world? I'm pretty much convinced that whoever understands my point of view would agree with me. Which other food can put a glow in us better than chocolate?. In time of sadness, time of happiness, time of celebration, time of stress, time of depression, chocolate is one good friend we can always rely on to put a smile on our face. One good food that does virtually all things wonderful to our body.

Funny enough most people don't usually pay closed attention to this foods. The only time they think of it is when they needed to show some love to their significant other because chocolates are a good symbol that expresses romance and endearments. However, several research have shown that this food comes in handy at all times and can be consumed anytime and in any situation. There are several benefits attached to consuming chocolate, let just see a few of them. 

It Lowers heart disease and stroke

Chocolate is good food for your heart according to experts. In a study conducted at the University of Aberdeen, experts looked at the eating habits of more than 20,000 middle-aged and elderly people. They concluded that compared to those who ate no chocolate, those who ate up to a small bar a day had an 11% lesser risk of cardiovascular disease and a 23% reduced risk of stroke. Another study found that dark chocolate helps restore flexibility to arteries, making blood to flow effectively. It can also prevent white blood cells from clogging to the walls of blood vessels.

It's mineral rich

Dark chocolate is packed with beneficial minerals such as potassium, zinc and selenium, and a 100g bar of dark (70 per cent or more) chocolate provides 67 per cent of the RDA of iron.

It reduces cholesterol in the blood

I wasn't surprised when i discovered that consuming chocolate can reduce the amount of bad cholesterol in the body. since it can help improve blood circulation, then why not?

Most of us knows that chocolates are products made strictly from coca beans and according to researches, cocoa is a great produce that reduce the level of bad cholesterol, Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and increase the level of the good one, High Density Lipoprotein (HDL), potentially lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease.

It's good for your skin

Dark Choco are rich in flavonoids, which can help protect the skin against sun damage. They are great additives for making creams.

It's good for mothers and babies

A study conducted in Finland, found that chocolate reduced stress in pregnant women, the study also claimed that the babies of such mothers smiled more often than the offspring of non-chocolate-eating parents. Although there are no much proofs backing up this claims but according to the researchers, they were pretty much convinced that consuming chocolates during pregnancy can sure make you give birth to a sweet baby that wouldn't bother you often with unnecessary cry.

It may prevent diabetes

This may sound ridiculous, but holding to the facts that cocoa can improve insulin sensitivity, the effect chocolate may have on diabetes shouldn't come as a surprise. Dark chocolate – in moderation – might delay or prevent the onset of diabetes.

Chocolates improves your mood and make you feel good

If you don't believe all that has been said about eating chocolates, maybe you may want to try this out. Whenever you feel stressed or depressed, consume some few bars of chocolate and see what happens next. Dark chocolate stimulates the production of endorphins, chemicals in the brain that create feelings of pleasure. Consuming them when you are feeling down can be a step in the right direction.
